Welcome Head Start Programs! The Choosy team has enjoyed meeting all of you during the Phase I IMIL launch events. We will continue to keep this Head Start/Choosy Kids site active, so that you can view many of your memories from Phase I Regional events. In addition, you will be able to download the Power Point templates used in those events.

We are doing this so that you have your own special area on this web site. We have new Choosy workshops and training materials, indoor and outdoor movement strategies for Early Head Start and Head Start programs, music, and parent involvement materials coming soon. IMIL LAUNCH POWERPOINTS (PASSWORD REQUIRED)

This picture was sent in by the Skyline Community Action Program, Inc. care of Laura Hunt Trull, Head Start Director. This Program used an old bus to create a moving and learning classroom to help promote "I Am Moving, I Am Learning," a new Head Start movement designed to reverse the trends of childhood obesity. The bus will travel around the 6 counties and 13 classrooms bringing a mobile moving and learning classroom to all Head Start students.

Choosy is all about more physical activity and better nutrition. Choosy shows the Region III Head Start crowd some less than traditional dance moves. Choosy Kids recommends 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity a day. Dancing is a great way to get your body moving!

This video is from the Region IV I Am Moving, I Am Learning (IMIL) Training Launch Event in Atlanta, Georgia, August 2007. This was Troy Lynn Lavigne's contribution to help her Region get moving! Troy Lynn is a River Dale classroom teacher with Clayton County Head Start Program near Atlanta, Georgia. She added words to complement the IMIL themes and Region IV enthusiastically responded! IMIL is helping parents, teachers and staff to encourage children to "Be Choosy and Be Healthy" by being more physically active and making healthy nutrition choices.
