CONCORD – State health experts are employing a catchy, numerical message to launch a statewide initiative to reduce and prevent childhood obesity – 5-2-1-0.
Five is for eating five or more fruits and vegetables daily; two reminds children to cut time in front of a television or computer to two hours or less a day; one refers to the one hour of moderate to vigorous physical exercise daily, and zero represents how much soda or other sweetened beverages a child should consume every day.
