Colorado's Metro Denver Health & Wellness Commission on Thursday unveiled a comprehensive obesity-prevention plan designed to help residents adopt healthier lifestyles, the Rocky Mountain News reports. The year-old commission is made up of 80 community leaders and is chaired by Lt. Gov. Barbara O'Brien. It used consumer and professional feedback to develop programs focusing on three primary stakeholders: schools, employers and communities. To promote school wellness, the plan calls for a renewed emphasis on P.E., nutrition education and healthier foods.
