Nearly one-third of South Carolina schools this year will screen a new DVD series that aims to teach children about proper nutrition and the importance of making healthy food choices, the Anderson Independent-Mail reports. Funded by the Southeast Produce Council and Clemson University, Professor Katherine Cason created the "Lucy's Tasty Treats" series to help schools comply with state and federal wellness policies requiring them to offer at least one hour of nutrition education per week.
