Pennsylvania Schools Tap Web Tool to Track Students' Health

Pennsylvania schools are using a Web-based program designed to streamline the tracking of student health data and facilitate wellness efforts, the Bucks County Courier Times reports. Launched during the 2005-2006 school year by Blue Cross affiliate Highmark Inc., the Health e-Tools for Schools program is now in place at 135 Pennsylvania schools or school districts in 49 of the state's 67 counties. Participating schools receive hand-held computers that school nurses can use to electronically record and manage student health data in accordance with state reporting requirements.
