Choosy Says Get Healthy

As Betsy Johnson’s class of 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds sat down to their breakfast Tuesday morning, Dominick Utz, 5, said Choosy may not be too happy about the sugar on his frosted wheat cereal. Video

Choosy is Head Start’s answer to the Cookie Monster. The green being teaches children to eat balanced meals and stay active.

“He doesn’t like dessert,” Dominck said. “He doesn’t like candy.”

Head Start is a program that allows economically disadvantaged pre-school-aged children to prepare for kindergarten.

Besides teaching children early reading and math skills, Head Start also focuses on healthy lifestyles.
