New York City Journalists Test Community-Driven Online Forum to Fight Obesity in South Bronx

The City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism in Manhattan has received funding to test a new model of health journalism that will tap schoolchildren and community members in the South Bronx to share information and advice about obesity and diabetes, the New York Daily News reports. Using a two-year, $50,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, graduate students will work with novice community reporters to set up blogs, interactive Web sites called wikis and slide shows about obesity and diabetes.
