U.S. Surgeon General Launches National Childhood Obesity Initiative

Acting U.S. Surgeon General Steven Galson, M.D., on Monday marked the launch of a new, national childhood obesity prevention initiative with a visit to West Virginia, the Charleston Gazette reports. Under the "Healthy Youth for a Healthy Future" program, Galson will recognize communities that encourage children to eat healthy and exercise for 60 minutes or more daily.
