Twenty Twenty Television has asked Hailsham's Freedom Leisure centre to help them recruit suitable families who may be interested in taking part in the long-term film project.

The series will be similar to other long-term series, such as Child Of Our Time and 7 Up. Film crews will follow the lives of six overweight three and four-year-olds and their families, revisiting them at regular intervals over their lifetime to create a unique insight into the realities of growing up overweight in modern Britain.

Vivienne Molokwu, associate producer, said, "The series will be non-judgemental, open and honest and aims to show the experience of growing up overweight by giving a voice to those children and their families who experience it first hand.

"We've all heard the endless statistics outlining our children's growing weight problems but what we haven't heard is the truth about day-to-day life from the very real youngsters behind the figures."
