Blue Cross Foundation Launches Florida Effort to Combat Childhood Obesity

The Blue Foundation for a Healthy Florida, the philanthropic arm of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, on Tuesday announced a four-year, $8 million effort to reduce childhood obesity in the state, the Jacksonville Business Journal reports. The Embrace a Healthy Florida Initiative will support public-private partnerships that address the causes of childhood obesity in the Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Tallahassee regions.
