Child Care Program Aims To Combat Childhood Obesity

Siskiyou Child Care Council and Siskiyou Child Care Center announced in a news release this week their sponsorship of the Child Care Food Program.

The Child Care Food Program is a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)-funded program which directly impacts the nutritional well-being of nearly three million pre-school age children everyday, the release stated.

By virtue of its nutritious meal pattern, nutrition education and on-site monitoring, the food program is the first line of defense in nation-wide efforts against childhood obesity and aims to create and maintain affordable, quality child care.
