Texas Wins Major Grant to Step Up Efforts to Prevent Childhood Obesity

Texas has been awarded a $2 million grant by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to fight childhood obesity.

The Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health and the Michael & Susan Dell Center for Advancement of Healthy Living at The University of Texas School of Public Health Austin Regional Campus is working with the Texas Health Institute and other partners in Live Smart Texas.

Live Smart Texas is a statewide coalition of more than 80 organizations that are committed to eliminating childhood obesity in Texas. These organizations include state agencies, policy institutes, academic institutions, community organizations and advocacy groups.
