Boise Uses Traveling Activity Van to Teach Children About Health and Exercise

In an effort to reduce childhood obesity rates and promote physical activity, the Boise Parks and Recreation department has implemented a children’s program that includes a mobile recreation van providing healthy snacks and activities to area children, the Boise Idaho Statesman reports. Launched in February 2008, the van tours parks, schools and low-income neighborhoods across the city, bringing athletic equipment, art supplies and healthy snacks.
