N.C. Groups Receive $200,000 in Funding to Promote Recreation, Nutrition

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, the National Park Service and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation have received a $200,000 grant to launch a multi-faceted program to promote the Blue Ridge Parkway as a recreational resource, GoBlueRidge.net reports. Awarded by Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the two-year grant will fund efforts to engage children and their families in activities that increase physical activity and promote a healthy diet.
