RWJF Grants Will Aid 21 Groups with Childhood Obesity Prevention Efforts

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) has awarded $4.8 million to 21 faith-based organizations to help prevent childhood obesity, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. The funding was awarded to help the groups advance policy and environmental changes designed to increase access to healthy foods and physical activity opportunities in the communities they serve. Among the recipients, the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi received $216,638 to support Healthy Congregations, a program under its Get a Life! campaign, which targets childhood obesity.
