Letting Others Know about the Healthy Kids, Healthy Future Blog.
On September 23-24, the Nemours Healthy Kids, Healthy Future conference will bring together child health and early education experts and government officials to examine the link between early childhood care and development of obesity later in life. The goal of the conference is to identify promising programs, practices and policies that promote healthy eating and physical activity in early childhood settings. This invitational conference is sponsored by Nemours, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to Prevent Childhood Obesity, with support from the Altarum Institute. There were so many requests to attend this conference that we regrettably could not accommodate everyone. Therefore we created a blog, healthykidshealthyfuture.com, to host live coverage with reporting, interviews, guest blogs and multimedia throughout the two-day conference. The site also offers event materials – agenda, speaker bios and the program compendium – and will host power points as they are presented. Even if you are unable to attend this conference in person, you can participate ‘virtually” via this healthykidshealthyfuture.com blog. We look forward to “hearing” from you at www.healthykidshealthyfuture.com!
